I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Montana and have lived in Arizona, New Mexico and Oregon. I moved to Spokane, Washington, in 2004 where I trained and found work as a medical transcriptionist. After retiring, I began painting at an evening adult painting class in 2018 and haven’t stopped since. I have a bachelors degree in fine art from the University of Montana but never pursued art as a career. After marriage and family life, I rarely if ever painted so returning to art has brought so much joy to my life. I currently live here in Spokane with my partner Kevin and his daughter Marina, who are both talented artists.
I am a native American working primarily with acrylic paints on stretched canvas. My artwork reflects my love for nature and features wildlife, scenery and portraits of my people, the Blackfeet tribe of Montana. I work hard to produce a professional product and occasionally offer prints of some works to make it accessible and affordable to all who wish to have my art in their homes.
I enjoy writing poetry and have published a chapbook of poetry from my early writing years entitled “NDN: words of a little hawk” available on Amazon.
I am a member of YES Is A Feeling, a studio/gallery owned and operated by local artist Roin Morigeau located at the Steamplant Building and share space with three other talented Spokane artists there. I have shown my work at the Carl Maxey Center, Terrain 13, Fellow Coworking and YES in the past years and am looking forward to doing a solo show at YES in the future.
