Jerry Jones
Jerry grew up on a cotton farm in the fifties and sixties near Arvin Calif. (shades of "The Grapes of Wrath"). He attended UC Santa Barbara as an undergrad, then graduated from UCLA dental school.
A two year stint in the Navy at Camp Pendleton, then on to private practice in McCloud, Calif. and Priest River Idaho. In the eighties he became involved in forensic dentistry and eventually was board certified in that discipline.
A medical condition forced him to retire from dentistry at age 50 and he started a new career as a financial advisor, moved to Spokane, and eventually retired for good at age 65.
Jerry and his wife, Marsha, have been married for 55 years and have a daughter, Erika, and no grandkids.
My Art
Artist's statement
My "art" career started with a short series of oil painting classes at a junior college while in the Navy. I mainly did still-life for about 2-3 years, but then life got in the way and I didn't paint anything for 50 some years.
I started again with oils and at the end of 2022 began self teaching myself to use colored pencils. My goals are to challenge myself with every piece and to produce a finished product that exceeds my original starting expectations.
