Bio/artsy/craftsy history:
I've been sketching since I was a little kid and have kept up sporadically with it and writing for a very long time.
I painted one good size acrylic which will be shown, but I got a very cold shoulder from my Junior College instructor when I was 19. Enough for me. Big gap in painting.
I picked up photography pretty early, did some commercial work in local aircraft modification shops and a couple articles published long ago with photos and the written word.
I picked up fiber spinning and weaving in the early 80's, also basket weaving, selling some at the Pottery Place when at the Flour Mill. I was a production weaver, operating a 16 shaft AVL Dobby loom for several years, but did not make enough money to support myself and children. Rewind to another 'real job'.
I've been an inventor for products I did not patent and as a result my patterns and products are the standard now in Western Riding equipment, for which I am very pleased. I nearly went broke and had to get a 'real job' yet again.
I've been a quilter for over 20 years, both traditional and art type. I crochet and knit, though of the latter I have little talent.
I started watercolor painting and mixed media while taking online classes with Jane La Fazio a bit before Covid and got the watercolor bug. I stick to mostly small pieces so far, while gaining skills and confidence.
