Call to Artists: The Hidden Gems of the Northwest

A Plein Air Exhibition at Spokane Art School, in Spokane, WA. Spokane Art School invites artists from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana to submit plein air paintings that celebrate the hidden gems of the Palouse and Inland Northwest. Think rolling hills, forgotten farm roads, secret valleys, and wide, wind-swept skies—captured on location with brush in hand.
Entry Fee:
$35 per image for Professional Artists
$20 per image for Emerging Artists
* Rates will be discounted if you enter three pieces: $90 per three images for a Professional Artist. $50 per three image for an Emerging Artist.
* Incomplete entries will not be considered.

Important Dates:
Artwork Submission Deadline: Monday, May 12, 2025
Notification of Acceptance: Monday, May 19, 2025
Artwork Drop-Off: May 27–30, 2025, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Exhibition Dates: June 6–27, 2025
Opening Reception: Friday, June 6, 2025, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Artwork Pick-Up: Monday, June 30, 2025, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Eligibility:
Open to artists residing in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.
Artwork Requirements:
Must be painted en plein air, on location, during May 2025
Maximum unframed size: 18 inches height x 24 inches width (including borders or edges)
All work must be framed, wired, and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers)
No shipped artwork; hand delivery only
Artwork must remain in the exhibition for the full duration—no early pickup
Juror:
Karen Kaiser, Curator at the Jundt Art Museum
Submission Details:
Submit up to three (3) works
Juror may select up to two (2) pieces per artist

Sales & Commission:
All artwork must be for sale
Spokane Art School retains a 40% commission on all sales
Artists should price their work accordingly
